This unique position manages two distinct municipal functions. Community Development staff are responsible for land-use, zoning, planning, plan review, permitting, building inspections and code enforcement functions. Public Works staff ensure that necessary public capital improvement programs are developed and projects are scheduled, designed and constructed, as well as maintain the City’s street and storm water infrastructure efficiently and safely. The Public Works staff are also responsible for NIMS and NPDES compliance, managing the solid waste franchise agreement and making sure that the City is an excellent environmental steward for Lake Wilderness. The successful candidate should have at minimum a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Urban Planning, Public Administration and/or Civil Engineering and a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of management experience in a local government setting and proven experience successfully managing multiple divisions and professional service contracts. P.E. Registration preferred. Qualified candidates must have a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential job functions of the position.
