Project Highlights: The 2022 Olympia Parks, Arts, & Recreation Plan outlines the trajectory of the department and lists many of the exciting projects planned for the next 20 years (www.olympiawa.gov/parksplan). For example, the construction of a new community athletic facility park will break ground in 2025. This is a multi-million dollar, complex project that the community has supported for decades. About the Position The Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation Department is looking for a motivated, knowledgeable professional to join the Parks Planning & Design section as a Senior Engineer. The successful candidate will join our team in the planning, design, construction inspection, and project management of various park development and major maintenance projects that are part of the Parks Department’s approximately $7 million annual capital budget. Key responsibilities of the Senior Engineer position are to provide coordination and oversight to two Project Engineers, provide engineering project management for major park construction projects, and oversee the parks capital asset management program. This is an exciting opportunity for engineers who enjoy being involved in all phases of project development. A flexible and hybrid schedule is available.
