The Traffic Operations and Engineering Division of the Public Works Department is recruiting for a Traffic Signal Technician: a skilled individual who enjoys hands-on signal operations and making travel safe by maintaining the City's traffic signals, control devices and streetlights. The successful candidate will enjoy working independently as well as with a team of highly skilled staff members. Responsibilities will include repairing, replacing, and maintaining electrical and electronic equipment; inspecting the installation of new signal systems; installing, testing, and maintaining active traffic control devices and street equipment; assisting in the implementation and maintenance of Intelligent Transportation Systems; processing data and running computer set up and diagnostics; and responding to emergency call back to direct or perform emergency repairs as needed. The City of Redmond is seeking a candidate with a High School Diploma or equivalency and two (2) years of experience in maintenance and repair of traffic signal/lighting and/or electrical/electronic systems.
