Description |
The City of Port Townsend is seeing a fulltime Water Treatment/Distribution Maintenance Worker or Operator to operate and maintain the City's potable water treatment system and to perform a variety of maintenance and repair work to the City's water distribution system. One job vacancy will be filled at Maintenance Worker, Operator I, or Operator II level depending on qualifications.
Minimum requirements (for Maintenance Worker):
- Water Treatment Plant Operator in Training (WTPO-IT) certification within 6 months in this position
- Water Treatment Plant Operator 1 certification within 18 months in this position
- Water Distribution Manager in Training (WDM-IT) certification within 6 months in this position
- Water Distribution Manager 1 certification within 18 months in this position
- Cross Connection Control Certification within 18 months in this position
- Graduation from high school or G.E.D.
- Valid Washington State Driver's license and ability to maintain a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class "A" or must obtain within 12 months in this position
- First Aid/CPR certification or must obtain within 12 months in this position
- Traffic Control and Flagging certification or must obtain within 12 months in this position
Compensation: $26.48-39.18 per hour base pay depending on qualifications (Top end of pay range with maximum potential longevity is $43.88)
