Description

The Municipal Research and Services Center (MRSC), a nonprofit located in Seattle, seeks a full-time training and outreach coordinator to join its communications team. Under the general direction of the communications manager, this position is primarily responsible for the coordination, production, and promotion of MRSC’s online and in-person trainings. This position also assists with the planning and implementation of outreach strategies for all MRSC services, including coordinating and attending some key partner conferences and events.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, MRSC staff are working from home with the option of limited work from the Seattle office, meeting the State’s safety guidance for office work. On a permanent basis, this position may be based in MRSC’s Seattle office with limited remote work from a home office within Washington State. This position may need to be present in the Seattle office for some webinar broadcasts, and involves some occasional travel to partner conferences within Washington State.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
• Webinars and Online Workshops. Coordinate production and promotion of all webinars and online workshops, including tasks such as scheduling, applying for professional credits offered, broadcasting, and recording of webinars.
• In-Person Workshops. Coordinate production and promotion of all in-person workshops, including tasks such as managing location reservations, registration process, applying for professional accreditations offered, and communicating with registrants.
• Post-Training Reports. Create post-training attendance and survey result reports to share with internal staff and external speakers for potential improvement of future trainings.
• Outreach Strategy. Assist in planning and coordinating outreach strategies for all MRSC services with other staff and external partners. Maintain email correspondence with partner organizations to promote MRSC’s training events and update partner mailing list as needed.
• Conference and Event. Coordinate details for various partner conference events such as venue reservation, membership management, transportation, and food service facilitation. Represent MRSC and monitor event activities to ensure that the client and attendees are satisfied.
• Social Media. Maintain a regular schedule of posts that promotes MRSC’s website content and other services through social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook).
• Partner Conferences. Represent MRSC and publicize MRSC services at occasional local government conferences and other special events. Maintain MRSC exhibitor booth and associated materials for outreach. Maintain internal conference calendar of Washington Associations and Organizations.
• Outreach Materials. Assist with development and distribution of marketing language and materials

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of 2 years prior professional communications/outreach/training coordination experience, preferably at a governmental, nonprofit, educational, or research institution, or a combination of related education and experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

STARTING SALARY. The salary range is $45,000 to $60,000 and the starting salary will depend on qualifications and experience. We offer excellent benefits, professional development, and a rewarding work environment.
