The Engineering Division is committed to the health, safety, and welfare of the City's citizens by providing engineering analysis of plans and specifications for the construction of capital improvements and private developments.

The Division is responsible for overseeing the construction of public infrastructure such as streets, sewer mains, and water mains to assure the adherence to standards set forth in the City of Oak Harbor Municipal Code and that current engineering practices are utilized.

Job Summary
Under general direction and supervision of the City Engineer, this position performs a variety of professional-level engineering assignments in design, construction, and land development. The preparation of plans, specifications and estimates and maintenance of projects involving major capital and private development which requires the application of standard engineering principles and methods. This includes, but is not limited to, new construction or improvement projects involving streets, water distribution structures and systems, wastewater, drainage, solid waste, and storm sewer systems.
