JOB SUMMARY: This position performs journey-level work in the repair and maintenance of gas and diesel powered automobiles, medium and heavy trucks, buses, refuse trucks, heavy construction, grounds maintenance and other equipment. Repairs related systems such as pumps, transmissions, carburetors, hydraulics, brakes and others. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of high school and completion of an apprenticeship in automotive equipment repair, journey-level mechanic status, or certification of ASE certification as a master automotive technician or master medium/heavy-duty technician. Must provide your own tools. (Tool list on job posting at www.yakimawa.gov) Must possess/obtain and maintain a Basic First Aid, including CPR and AED, a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement within 6 months of employment.
