We are recruiting for multiple seasoned and highly skilled Journey Level Mechanics to join the Fleet Maintenance team. Some of the regular duties in this role will include: Providing preventative maintenance; Essential Functions The following functions are not intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties. Diagnoses malfunctions and adjusts fuel, electrical, programmable logic controls (PLC's) and mechanical systems to specifications. Qualifications Knowledge of and skill in applying: Methods, materials, tools, and standard practices related to the maintenance and repair of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. Skill in and ability to: Use jacks, wrenches, grease guns, hydraulic hoists, cleaning materials and other tools and equipment used in the service and repair of heavy equipment. Minimum Qualifications: Three (3) years of journey-level mechanical work experience in transit, bus, or over-the-road coach maintenance. Experience must include at least one year of heavy duty diesel mechanic work experience or alternative fueled spark ignited engines. OR AND Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with an acceptable driving record at the time of hire and throughout employment in this position and obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License permit within 30 days of hire and obtain a Class B CDL with air brake and passenger endorsements within ninety (90) days of hire. Special Requirements: Must be willing to work any shift (assignment to swing shift, graveyard and/or weekends likely). Desired: Journey level mechanical work experience on natural gas or propane-powered spark-ignited vehicles or equipment.
