Description

Under the direction of the Parks, Recreation and Aquatics Director, Division Supervisor or designee, develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate comprehensive community programs for youth, adult and senior citizens in the City of Fife.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Administer comprehensive programs to meet the needs, interests and abilities of Fife and the surrounding communities.
Assess program needs, develop program curriculum, schedule and coordinate facility use, purchase or obtain supplies and equipment, and participate in on site activities.
Promote programs within the community by assisting in development and production of marketing tools, including social media. Monitor program participants, implement program policies and procedures, and evaluate program needs and successes.
Coordinate city-sponsored youth, adult and senior programs. Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures necessary to facilitate city-sponsored programs and events. Coordinate efforts with other City staff and departments.
Coordinate and supervise a comprehensive summer & school-break day camp program for youth and teens.
Coordinate with the Human Resources Division to recruit program staff, instructors and volunteers.
Supervise assigned program staff, instructors and volunteers; schedule staff hours; coordinate and provide training; monitor and evaluate staff performance.
Conduct informational meetings with staff to communicate policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Assist with outside funding opportunities through grant applications, solicitation of sponsorships and other fund raising activities for program enrichment and enhancement.
Develop effective working relationships and work with community groups, businesses, local/county/state agencies, school district and City personnel to provide additional programs and outreach services.
Monitor program budgets. Monitor and coordinate expenditures in accordance with established procedures. Meet revenue expectations.
Prepare program documents and maintain records and reports related to program implementation, operation, attendance, expenditures, etc.
Respond to public inquiries for program and class information. Provide referrals when necessary.
Register participants and customers in recreation software program.
Assist staff with facility rentals, events and programs, including setup and takedown for rentals and programs.
Perform related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience in a related field to allow success in performing the essential duties of this position

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession and maintenance of current Driver's License.
Ability to maintain an acceptable driving record per city guidelines.
Possession and maintenance of current certifications in CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens and AED.
Must have and maintain a current Food Handler's Permit.

PREFERRED:
Lifeguard Certification

Prioritize and schedule work.
Maintain current knowledge of related rules, regulations, requirements and restrictions.
Work independently with little direction.
Observe legal and defensive driving practices.
Have a flexible schedule to work at Day Camp, Teen Scene, lead Senior Trips and other programs that may fall outside of a normal work schedule.
Ability and willingness to work irregular hours, especially early mornings, evenings and weekends.
Ability to drive a vehicle including a 15 passenger bus.
