Located in Lewis County population 74,700 Historical community once known as HubCity founded in 1875 by George Washington, the son of a black slave famous for antique shops. enjoy a mild climate with low/high mean temperatures of 38 and 78 recreational activities home of CentraliaCollege, museums, theater and art exhibits and concert series The Position command level position and serves on the department’s executive leadership team.The classification manages the daily operations of either of the two (2) Bureaus:Special Ops or Field Ops within the Centralia Police Department.conduct internal investigations.plan and coordinate emergency service activities for the Department; update the Emergency Response Manual as necessary; represent the Department at meetings regarding emergency planning.coordinate the emergency management function of the City of Centralia.observe and formally review the work performance of assigned staff (Sworn and/or non-sworn).direct the preparation of required reports detailing the Department's activities. assist the Chief of Police with the development of the annual budget. Requirements for consideration include: Possession of an Associate’s Degree (or 60 semester units) in criminal justice, police science, or a related field is required. Ten years of law enforcement experience, including three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in law enforcement supervision or administration; or any combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job, are required. Peace Officer Certification in the State of Washington is required. Mid Management Certification through the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission is required. Applicants must pass a background investigation, including psychological and polygraph examinations. A valid Washington State driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the City and the City's insurance carrier are required and must be maintained throughout employment.
