Description

The City of Woodinville Public Works department has an excellent opportunity for Seasonal Maintenance Workers. The Laborer II - Seasonal positions will work the summer months with an option of up to five months duration depending on the availability of the candidate. Work days are typically Monday through Friday, 6:30 am - 4:00 pm.  Must be 18 years old or older to qualify.

These positions are Open until Filled. Interviews are being scheduled as qualified applications are received. We are hopeful that the selected candidates will be available to start working mid May - mid June depending on the qualified applicant's availability.

The work will primarily consist of routine tasks such as removal of brush and debris from park grounds, stormwater facilities, open space, and public rights-of-way, weeding, raking, watering vegetation, mowing, edging, shoveling, and light construction, repair, and facility maintenance duties. 

The ideal candidate for these positions will be able to use a variety of tools and equipment and have a working knowledge of maintenance and operations gained through experience and/or education. The candidates will be required to assist staff in performing regular, routine, and semi-skilled maintenance tasks within City owned facilities and public rights-of-way.

These positions are considered seasonal and non-regular employees. Non-regular employees are at-will employees. Such employees shall accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every forty hours worked in accordance with RCW 49.46.210, but are not eligible for other forms of paid leave, paid holidays, health or life insurance coverage, or any other parts of the employee benefit package, except to the extent that may be required by State or Federal law.

The City and employee shall pay for all required coverage, insurance, etc. in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, including but not limited to: Medicare, Unemployment, Workers Compensation, Paid Family and Medical Leave Program, etc.
