Description

Engineer I $64,009.68 - $79,836.96
Engineer II $67,202.88 - $83,838.24
Engineer III $81,642.48 - $101,875.20

Description:

Responsible for all types of Public Works projects from design conception through completion of construction, in accordance with established policy and professional standards.

Prepares plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for review and incorporation into projects.
Performs and oversees technical studies.
Performs coordination with survey, environmental, and ROW support groups as well as outside utilities, residents, consultants, and contractors
Roadway, bridge, wall, drainage, and street lighting design, inspection, and construction oversight
Manages one large or several smaller projects at one time.

Education and Experience requirements:
E I, II & III Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent related field experience in Civil Engineering
E II & E III certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT)
E III Washington State Professional Engineer’s license is required

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of county, state and federal regulations and codes pertaining to public works, engineering, and construction, including WSDOT Standard Specifications, Local Agency Guidelines (LAG), & AASHTO Design Standards


• Knowledge of principles and practices of road construction, including earthwork, roadway, bridge, utility, drainage, erosion, and sediment control


• Ability to read, interpret and communicate engineering plans and specifications, prepared to any engineering or Architectural Standard


• Ability to prepare bid documents and plans.
