SALARY: $29.82 - $39.19, depending on qualifications

JOB TYPE: Regular/Full-Time

UNION STATUS: Pasco Police Officer’s Association (Non-Uniform)

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm

THE ROLE:

As an Accreditation Specialist in the Police Department, you will play a critical role in coordinating the accreditation and re-accreditation processes, including research, drafting, and maintaining agency policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate for this role will have 3 years of secretarial or administrative experience, or in similarly related functions, excellent communication, networking, partnership and customer service skills, and the ability to foster a work culture based on integrity and respect. You will collaborate with various levels of stakeholders inside of the Police Department, as well as within the City and externally to perform various administrative tasks, to ultimately complete the accreditation process for the Pasco Police Department.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job.):

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Three (3) years of secretarial/administrative assistance experience or related experience.
  • Valid Washington State driver license.
  • Attain WASPC Accreditation Manager Certification (Must obtain within one (1) year of hire date.)
  • This position is subject to an extensive background investigation (polygraph, drug use history, criminal convictions, personal history statement, etc...), which requires candidates to submit a personal history statement, linked here. This will be requested to be completed if you are chosen to move forward in the recruitment process.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous municipal experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience in policy development, print publications, website development.
  • Experience with State and/or Federal accreditation processes.

COMPREHENSIVE BENEFITS PACKAGE: The City offers a full benefits package for the employee and all eligible dependents covered at low premiums including:

  • Medical at $153.70/month, dental at $11.59/month, and vision coverage at $6.54/month
  • Basic life insurance paid for by the City and employee sponsored supplemental life insurance
  • 12 days of vacation during the 1st year of employment and 12 days of sick leave which are available for use upon accrual
  • 10 holidays, plus each employee receives 1 floating holiday each year
  • Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS), which offers a guaranteed monthly benefit once vesting criteria has been met
  • In addition to DRS, employees may also contribute to a 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, that offers a pre-tax contribution of 3% from the City
  • Other benefits offered: Comprehensive Employee Assistance Program, Tuition Assistance, Flexible Spending Plan, Long-Term Disability, Aflac, and Flexible Schedule (per department approval)

SAFETY/WORK CONDITIONS:

  • May work weekends during critical project phases.
  • This role is primarily situated in an office environment, with physical requirements related to general office duties, ie: sitting/standing with computer usage.
  • Requires travel for meetings and attendance at morning and evening meetings as needed.
  • Standard office hours are observed, with the potential for overtime during critical project phases.
  • The individual may occasionally be required to lift items, with a maximum weight of 35lbs.
  • The mental demands of the job are significant, requiring high attention to detail, along with strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
