The City of Bremerton is seeking to fill the position of Engineering Project Manager – Utilities.

The City of Bremerton owns, manages, and maintains significant utility infrastructure (water, sewer, and stormwater) to serve its citizens. As a Professional Engineer serving under the general direction of the Managing Engineer for Utilities, this individual will function as a project manager responsible for managing complex utility engineering capital projects or other special projects as assigned.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is a professional staff management classification with responsibility for managing Utility projects or other special projects and will include both administrative and technical oversight. Exercises a high degree of independent professional judgment in resolving administrative and technical problems within program goals and objectives. The incumbent will lead assigned project teams and will be responsible for project delivery or a phase of project delivery. In fulfilling this responsibility, this position will apply best management practices for technical design and quality assurance, construction management, project scheduling, financial monitoring, regulatory processing, change management, recording, reporting, and internal and external communication techniques to ensure on-schedule and on-budget progress of assigned projects.

The hiring range for this position is: $107,619.84 - $131,124.24 annually (DOQ), a hiring bonus of $10,000.00 is available for this position, and authorized relocation expenses are negotiable.

Employer contributions to the State Retirement System pension plan; 20 days of paid vacation per year front loaded and pro-rated based on hire date (increases to a maximum of 25 days per year after five years); 11 paid holidays per year; one paid floating holiday of your choice per year; 12 days of paid sick leave; hybrid remote work/telecommuting upon management approval; 4% deferred compensation ($179.37 - $218.54 semi-monthly) in addition to salary; wellness program; employee assistance program; authorized relocation expenses are negotiable; and medical, dental and vision coverage.
