Whatcom County HR is a division of the Administrative Services Department including Finance, Facilities, and Information Technology. The County has 850 regular, full-time employees and 75-150 seasonal, temporary employees. We provide a variety of public services such as law enforcement, road and other infrastructure improvements, public health, parks facilities, court services, elections, and more. HR Representatives work as generalists providing support to assigned departments in multiple areas including recruitment and selection, benefits administration, leave administration and workers' compensation, classification and compensation, and policy/legal compliance. There are currently nine collective bargaining agreements covering 81% of County employees. The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills, proficient and adaptable technology skills, and a willingness to learn and contribute with other professionals in a collaborative team environment.
