About the Position
The City of Olympia’s Finance Department seeks an exceptional professional to join its Team as the Senior Accountant. The successful candidate will report to the Fiscal Services Accounting Manager.
About the Finance Department
Olympia’s Finance Department is one of 10 City departments. The Finance Team of 19 full-time employees, includes three managers, and provides city-wide services for: accounts payable, billing and collection, budget, cash and debt management, financial reporting, investments, payroll, project and grant accounting and fleet administration.
The Ideal Candidate for the Senior Accountant possesses:
• strong problem solving and analytical skills
• advanced knowledge of GAAP, GASB and Washington State BARS
• attention to detail and accuracy
• ability to function well in team-oriented environment
• exceptional written and oral communication skills
• ability to lead and teach
• sense of humor
