Description

King County Metro (the nation's 9th largest transit agency based in Seattle, WA) is recruiting for two exciting and strategically important roles to lead our zero emissions fleet transition effort.

We have committed to transitioning all King County Metro fleets (1,400 buses, three water taxis and 2,300 light and medium duty vehicles) to zero emissions by 2035. We are building a team of experts to refine our strategy, procure zero emission vehicles, build out the charging infrastructure, and invest in information technology to meet our ambitious goals. This team will play a critical role in implementing capital projects and drive readiness activities in the operating divisions across Metro.

We are currently hiring for two key positions in this group:
A Zero Emission Capital Strategy Manager to build and supervise a group of five strategists, responsible for developing and managing the capital strategy for the high visibility initiative to convert all of King County Metro's fleets to zero emissions by 2035. 2022 Salary Range $129,597 - $164,272 with 4% increase expected in 2023.

A Zero Emission Knowledge Manager to be Metro's technical expert in fleet electrification transition and one of the strategists in the new group. This technical expert will inform capital investments and develop technical standards based on industry and peer transit agency learnings. 2022 Salary Range $117,868 - $149,405 with 4% increase expected in 2023.

King County Metro values diversity, inclusion and belonging in our workplace and workforce. We are a nationally-recognized industry leader and recently named by Forbes as one of Washington State's best employers.

This is an opportunity to join a nationally recognized organization that is changing the way government delivers service to the public. Come join the team dedicated to serving one of the nation's best places to live, work and play.
