Information Technology Director job in Camas

As a member of the City’s senior leadership team, this position will report directly to the City Administrator. The Director shall be a highly effective leader and communicator who will be a strategic and innovative thinker with a keen understanding and ability to strategically balance city-wide infrastructure and technology needs with individual priorities and concerns of City departments. The Director will be highly skilled, results driven, and approachable and understand the need for building consensus, customer service, conflict resolution, and building a culture of equity and inclusion. Motivating and inspiring staff to navigate change and strive to accomplish key priorities using forward-thinking and creativity will be key for this position. Strong skills as a project manager are essential. Additionally, the successful applicant will be expected to:

• Manage the IT Department budget of approximately $1M
• Manage the technology team of three, serving over 200 employees in a full-service city including servers, networking, end-user computing devices as well as software and services hosted on-premises and in the cloud
• Mentor team members and assist with professional growth and goals
• Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the team’s service delivery processes and methodologies
• Coordinate with department managers for ongoing technology needs and implementation strategies
• Create and maintain positive relationships with other local governments and external partners/vendors
• Ensure the City’s technologies stay on trend

Current Priorities

• Creation of an Information Technology  Governance Committee
• Multi-year process implementing a new  city-wide ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) application
• Phone system replacement
• Review technology purchasing process to ensure  appropriate mobile/remote work procurement
• Update City Technology Roadmap for the future

The Information Technology Director will have: six years of professional information technology experience including three years supervisory and project management experience; and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field from an accredited college or university. A Master’s degree is preferred. Significant experience with the services, fiscal structure and environment of government agencies, preferably the local government level.  

The at-will’s position’s annual salary range is $102,624 - $122,916. Starting salary is dependent upon experience and qualifications. The City offers a generous and competitive benefit package.
