The Opportunity: Heavy Equipment/Automotive Technician The Alderwood Water & Wastewater District (AWWD) is seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment/Automotive Technician for our Maintenance and Operations Department. Located in the fast-growing Puget Sound region, AWWD is focused on the expansion, maintenance, and replacement of its critical infrastructure. AWWD currently employs 147 employees and the Heavy Equipment/Automotive Technician is responsible for specialized and skilled work involving the diagnosis and repair of various automotive and major pieces of diesel and gas powered equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing internal combustion engines and systems, as well as heavy equipment while taking necessary corrective action. This position coordinates and administers a Preventive Maintenance Program. The ideal candidate will possess any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge and abilities required to perform the job. This individual will have acquired hands on experience in the diagnosis and repair of various automotive and major pieces of diesel and gas powered equipment, such as sewer cleaners, dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, equipment trailers, emergency power generators, and other heavy equipment. Heavy Equipment/Automotive Technician must have excellent communication and writing skills and feel comfortable using a computer and related software applications. A Commercial Driver’s License Class A with Tanker and Air Brake Endorsements is required. An Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification, and/or a welding or similar mechanic certification are a strong plus. The pay range for this position is $69,909 - $93,662 annually, with a starting pay range of $69,909 - $80,912 dependent upon experience and qualifications.
