The City of Lynnwood, Department of Development and Business Services (DBS), is hiring a Development Engineering Services Supervisor. The Development Engineering Services Supervisor position is critical member of the DBS Team. Our ideal candidate will: -Be customer service focused.Have a collaborative approach to providing solutions. -Have previous private engineering review and inspection experience. -Have experience reviewing traffic control plans for right-of-way permits. -Be familiar with the complexities of growth and development within the Puget Sound Region. -Have experience supervising professional and technical staff. -Be able to identify and implement process improvements. The position of Development Engineering Services Supervisor is located in the Development and Business Services Department. Basic responsibilities are to ensure development proposals are in compliance with engineering standards and codes particularly related to private development of public infrastructure within the scope of the Development Engineering Services Division. The Development Engineering Division manages private engineering review, the cross-connection control program, right-of-way permits, private engineering inspections, and the fats, oils, and grease (FOG) program. This position performs coordination, maintenance, and supervision of the engineering review and inspection process for private development projects which involves a variety of field, office, or related types of assignments. This position also performs more complex, and advanced review of private development projects. Work of this position requires a high degree of independent judgment and action in planning projects, resolving technical problems, and administering projects within the framework of established policies. This position also coordinates plan review with building, planning and permit tech staff. Supervision of professional and technical personnel is required. Essential Functions: Includes but is not limited to such essential functions as listed below:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline plus three (3) years related experience required; Professional Engineer license in the State of Washington or ability to obtain one within six months or demonstrated equivalent experience and training; valid Washington State Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to the City’s insurance carrier. |
