Description

The City of Auburn Finance Department is looking for a talented team member to join us as the Utility Billing Services Supervisor. In this position, you will perform professional, administrative, and customer-service tasks, while supervising staff members and service programs. You will also be responsible for reporting the City's utilities financial activities and records, and preparing analyses and special projects as directed.

Our ideal candidate has proven customer service skills, excellent technical skills, as well as supervisory experience.

In this role you will:
Process and resolve customers' concerns about utility billing, the solid waste program, and illegal dumping.

Supervise the Account Representatives, Solid Waste Customer Service Specialist, and assigned temporary staff as needed. You will train, supervise, motivate, and evaluate employees' work performance, as well as resolve their concerns. In addition, you will make decisions on hiring, promoting, discipline, termination, and other employment action in conjunction with others.

Provide mentoring, training, and professional development opportunities for supervised positions with an emphasis on establishing and maintaining superior customer service skills. You will schedule, prioritize, and delegate utilities function work assignments to assigned employees.

Assist in establishing, implementing, and enforcing procedures and processes for utility billing and customer service, acting as an escalated referral source for resolving customer issues that front desk staff are not able to adequately resolve.
