The City of Monroe is currently recruiting for a Records Manager for the Monroe Police Department. This position provides supervisory tasks in the administrative division and/or specialty units of the police department including first line supervision, assigning, and reviewing work production, coordinating activities and workloads. Special projects as assigned by the Chief of Police. Responsible for the records personnel to include areas of responsibility such as public records requests, police records retention and dissemination, case management, scheduling, training, record keeping, and other such items as required for the smooth operation of the administrative division. Ensure high level of customer service to both internal and external customers. Perform duties of first line supervisor. Ability to coordinate and assign work to subordinates and ability to coach, counsel, recognize superior job performance and discipline, as necessary. Prepare and conduct oral and written employee performance evaluations. Recommends to the Administrative Director when reprimands, discipline, commendations, or other personnel actions appear appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications • High School diploma or GED required. AA degree preferred. • Three years supervisory experience in criminal justice to include public records. • Maintain permanent residence within forty-five (45) miles of the City of Monroe police department. • Within six months of appointment must complete First Level Supervision through the WSCJTC. • Knowledge of the entire police department operation including community resources to which the department refers. • Ability to maintain confidentiality. • Must be able to able to meet standards for hire to include background, polygraph, reference checks and driving history.
