The City of Moses Lake is accepting applications for a Design Engineer position in the Engineering Department. The Design Engineer is responsible for performing civil engineering duties in support of the design, construction, and management of city construction projects. Additional responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: prepare plans and specifications for public works projects; prepare preliminary cost estimates; review plans and specifications prepared by division staff; resolve construction and design problems; prepare change orders; provide project management for municipal works projects; oversee assigned projects to ensure contractor compliance with plans, specifications, deadlines, and budgets; manage project costs and coordinate contractor payments; direct technical staff in drafting, surveying, and inspection duties; and prepare technical reports on engineering design decisions for assigned projects and activities. This is a full-time position.
