Status:  Regular Full-time, 40 hours per week; Exempt FLSA status.
Salary:  The starting salary range is $78,000 - $84,000 annually, DOE, with full benefits.

THE POSITION:

PSRC is seeking a Senior Transportation Analyst to perform a variety of tasks and activities that support the implementation of transportation projects in the central Puget Sound region. The position will provide leadership and support to the Transportation Planning Division, with a particular focus on the regional Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and the delivery of transportation investments funded by PSRC’s Federal Transit Administration and Federal Highway Administration funds. The position will be responsible for a range of qualitative and quantitative work. This work will include, but is not limited to the following tasks:

•  Reviewing and analyzing detailed project information, including current funding, project scopes and schedules;
•  Ensuring the accuracy and compliance of the Regional Transportation Improvement Program;
•  Identifying and resolving issues for transportation projects;
•  Assisting with the implementation of federal transportation requirements and regional policy.

 

THE CANDIDATE:

The ideal candidate will have:

•  Knowledge of, and experience with, federal and state transportation funding programs.
•  Knowledge of transportation project requirements, such as environmental approval, permitting, right of way processes, etc.
•  Ability to perform data analysis and research, synthesize and summarize analytic processes and findings, and make recommendations.
•  Ability to lead staff and committees.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
•  Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
•  Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and with the general public and transportation professionals.

 

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

•  Bachelor’s degree in planning, civil engineering, or related field.
•  Four years increasingly responsible experience in transportation planning, grants management or related field.
•  Or, any combination of education and experience that would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge, and abilities required to perform the job.
