The City of Renton is looking for an experienced Budget and Accounting Manager for our Finance department. This position will lead a team of analysts that focuses on the City's biennial budget, Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, CIP, and other accounting and finance functions. The ideal candidate will have the following education and experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
- 5-8 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial analysis and public finance
- Experience in municipal government highly preferred
- 2 years of supervisory experience in a similar role

JOB SUMMARY: Considered a working manager, oversee a workgroup. Manage and oversee financial reporting and preparation, compliance, and internal controls over the City's assets and processes. Will have direct reports and may have indirect reports. Manage employee performance (promote, coach, mentor, and discipline); terminate in conjunction with a superior. Monitor and maintain a designated budget. Ensure department/strategic goals are implemented. Policy development, updates, interpretation, and administration.
