City Administrator job in North Bend

The City of North Bend is a highly livable small town that is the premier outdoor recreation destination in the Puget Sound region. Located at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains just 30 miles east of Seattle, the City offers friendly, small-town charm and natural beauty. The City of North Bend operates under a Strong Mayor/Council form of government. Under the administrative direction of the Mayor, the City Administrator oversees the day-to-day operations of the City and ensures that all work is carried out efficiently and effectively with the greatest degree of professionalism and integrity.  City departments include Administration, Finance, Community & Economic Development, and Public Works. Fire services are provided by Eastside Fire & Rescue, and police services are contracted through the City of Snoqualmie. The City’s total budget for 2020 is approximately $37 million, with a General Fund budget of $9 million. The City employs 45 talented and dedicated employees.

The new City Administrator will be a collaborative, team-oriented manager and leader who understands all aspects of local government, has strong administrative skills, and is committed to customer service and providing a high level of service to the citizens of North Bend.  This position has considerable public contact and must have excellent communication skills.

A Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration or a closely related field is required. Candidates must have 7 years of progressively responsible senior management experience, preferably in municipal government. A Master’s degree in Public Administrator or related field and previous experience as a City Manager or Administrator is desirable.
