Description

The Parks Operations Division of the Parks and Recreation Department is recruiting for a Parks Maintenance and Operations Supervisor. HOURS: This position is full-time working Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with evenings and weekends as needed.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Schedule, execute, and monitor activities related to the operations, maintenance and repairs of City parks. Supervise, train, evaluate, and hire employees. Establish safe work practices and programs to promote safety in the workplace. Prepare and propose division budget; review and monitor expenses to meet budget objectives. Identify need for contractor services; prepare and negotiate contractual agreements. Provide quality customer service. Represent Parks and Recreation Department at City Council, Parks and Trails Commission, and regional committee meetings. Provide quality customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Two years of college level course work in Urban Horticulture, Parks Management or related field, and Five (5) years of parks or parks related experience which includes three years of progressively responsible roles with administration and management responsibilities. Bachelor's degree preferred Or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:

Valid Washington State Driver's License and a driving record that meets city standards. This position is currently non-represented.

SELECTION PROCESS
