Day Camp Leaders provide a safe, fun, and engaging atmosphere for participants enrolled in summer day camp programs. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES • Plan, organize, and implement camp activities including but not limited to arts & crafts, science experiments, sports, organized games, songs, nature walks, and storytelling. • Be actively involved with children and engaged in activities at all times. • Work closely with others in an enthusiastic, cooperative, and supportive manner. • Set boundaries and enforce good decision making. • Perform emergency First Aid and CPR as needed and according to established guidelines, providing for the proper safety of participants in recreational programs. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Note: Some positions may include driving a 15 passenger van. Day Camp Counselor – 15 positions • Work as part of a team in an indoor/outdoor setting with children ages 4-11. • Minimum of 16 years of age. • Positions available at Anderson Park/Grass Lawn Park, Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park, and the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village (RCCMV). Day Camp Director – 3 positions • Oversee Day Camps. • Additional duties include planning daily activities, assisting with training and scheduling of staff and volunteers, organizing and purchasing supplies, holding weekly staff meetings, covering staff lunch breaks, subbing for camp staff as needed, managing paperwork, communicating with participants, parents and staff, assisting with administrative duties in the office, and other duties as assigned. • Minimum of 21 years of age. • Positions available at Anderson Park/Grass Lawn Park, Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park, and the Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village. Inclusion Specialist – 4 positions • Work with children with disabilities ages 4 – 15 by offering support and making program modifications to integrate participants into traditional day camp settings. • Experience working with children with disabilities preferred. • Minimum of 18 years of age, must have a current driver's license, an insurable driving record, and be able to provide your own reliable transportation from one site to another throughout the greater Redmond area. Substitute – 4 positions • Assist as needed on an on-call basis throughout the summer. • Must have a current driver's license, an insurable driving record, and be able to provide your own reliable transportation from one site to another throughout the greater Redmond area. Full and part-time supplemental (non-benefited) positions available, and range from 8 to 11 week assignments. Please note: All positions are dependent on programs meeting minimum enrollment. If programs are canceled, staff will not be scheduled to work. QUALIFICATIONS • Must be enthusiastic, energetic and passionate about working with children, as well as have an interest in community recreation, art, farm animals, nature, and/or educational programs. • Previous experience planning and leading recreation activities for children ages 4 -15 preferred. • Some positions may supervise volunteers. Note: Lead, Assistant, and/or Co-Leader status may be established based on experience. • Must have or obtain current First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
