Seasonal Park Maintenance Aide (Mulitiple Positions) job in Redmond

The City of Redmond Parks and Recreation Department has multiple openings for Seasonal Maintenance Aides in our Park Operations Division.

Hours will be varied and may include weekends. Full and part-time supplemental positions available. This is a seasonal position which is limited to 1,040 hours per calendar year between April 1 and September 30. Consideration will be given to varied schedules including start and end dates.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with full-time Park Maintenance Technicians performing routine tasks within Park Maintenance programs including:Turf maintenance - mowing and trimming grass areas;Sports field maintenance – field preparation;Facility maintenance - litter pick-up, restroom cleaning and court cleaning;Preventative maintenance – small repairs and pressure washing;Horticultural maintenance – shrub bed and flower maintenance;Urban forestry – trail and tree maintenance;Facility repair – carpentry and other skills necessary to make repairs to park facilities and municipal buildings;Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent.Experience in maintenance or other related work preferred.Mechanical aptitude and use of power and related hand tools is desired.

Licenses and Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older by the date of hire.A valid Washington State driver's license by date of hire and, driving record that meets City standards.Successful applicants must provide own steel-toed, safety boots (City will provide 50% toward that purchase, not to exceed $100).Physical agility, stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
