Crime Specialist - Analyst job in Pasco

DUTIES: Performs work addressing community concerns regarding criminal activity and tracks cases through the justice system. Monitors and reports on crime trends, performs crime analysis and forecasting. Position focuses on criminal gang activity and assists in the enforcement and prosecution processes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job.):

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or closely related field, preferred
• Two (2) years’ experience in criminal analysis, juvenile justice, law enforcement, or social services field
• One (1) year experience in data collection and statistical analysis
• Pass an extensive background check and polygraph examination

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified as a Crime Analyst by a recognized organization
• Experience with handling confidential information

Knowledge of:
• Research methods and basic statistical analysis
• Crime and intelligence analysis
• Law enforcement agency reporting criteria
• Judicial and correction agency procedures
• Criminal gang behavior

SALARY: $26.52 - $28.71, plus benefits
