Description

Association of Washington Cities (AWC) is recruiting for an Education Developer to join our dynamic and fast-paced Education team. The incumbent must be a self-motivated, team player and enjoy working as part of a team.

What you will be doing

  • Coordinate face-to-face statewide educational events such as annual conferences and networking events
  • Lead the development of forums, one-day trainings, and webinars
  • Identify and vet subject matter experts and speakers
  • Gather and prepare content and materials for stand-alone workshops, conference sessions, and webinars
  • Coordinate speaker proposals, materials, and logistics
  • Write and edit conference session descriptions and programs, update website content, and draft other communications
  • Serve as moderator and/or facilitator for conference sessions and workshops, as assigned
  • Administer online programming (webinars and visual conference calls) for the organization’s members and staff
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and staff from Education, IT, and Communications to deploy face-to-face and online educational activities and events

What you bring to the team

  • Three years of customer service experience in supporting member/customer training and education
  • Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred. Experience may be substituted year-for-year for academic achievement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and have the ability to learn and use a wide variety of proprietary software
  • Knowledge of Adult Learning Theory and group facilitation models
  • Ability to use virtual meeting and webinar platforms such as GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar, Skype for Business, and/or other web meeting software
  • Ability to model the association’s high standards of quality customer service to all internal and external customers
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment, assisting team members as needed
  • Make effective decisions and act independently in managing and coordinating duties
  • Strong communication skills, articulate clearly both with the written and spoken word
  • Comfortable speaking in front of small and large groups
  • Understanding of nonprofit work and/or municipal government issues
