As you develop your team and grow its capacity to support Surface Water Management's mission you bring our water quality story to life for the public, management, and elected officials through data driven water quality and environmental assessments You will serve an integral role in making the county a great place to live. Core Daily Responsibilities:

  •  Provide effective leadership for 5 to 6 scientist and technicians who perform tasks related to water quality, environmental monitoring, GIS, and weather station data that is analyzed for state NPDES Permit compliance.
  • Oversee team workforce development.
  • Grow internal capacity of the monitoring program through staff development.
  • Develop and administer strategic plans, project and/or consultant service contracts, programming, and other implementation programs.
  • Represent the County at public hearing or meetings and participate in committees.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Natural Science, Biology, Environmental Studies, or other closely related fired of study.
  • Five or more years of related work experience.
  • Additional work experience or education may substitute stated requirements.
  • Ability to lead and develop teams.

  
Preferred Requirements:

  • Provable experience in leading teams successfully.
  • Experience in stormwater and NPDES permitting.
