JOB SUMMARY: Join the City of Renton's Development Engineering Team (a section of the City's Community and Economic Development Department) as a Civil Engineer/Project Manager. This position will, as part of the Development Engineering Team, help to ensure that private development and Capital Improvement Projects are designed, engineered, and constructed in accordance with the City's Codes and Standards, and provide a safe and enjoyable place to live and work by:
- The Civil Engineer II will perform project plan reviews on small-scale, private development and CIP projects. The Civil Engineer III will perform project plan reviews on complex and/or large-scale private development and CIP projects.
- Integrating numerous engineering and construction disciplines.
- Assisting Developer, Engineers, and Contractors through the City's permitting process.
- Coordinating with other City Departments Ensuring the systems can be efficiently maintained and operated.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 2 years increasingly responsible engineering experience required and Washington Engineer in Training certification preferred for Civil Engineer II position .
- 4 years increasingly responsible engineering experience required and WA State Professional Engineer Certification (preferred) for Civil Engineer III position.
- Valid Washington State driver's license.
- Successful passing of a required background check.
