Public Works Director job in Ritzville

The Director of Public Works is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all activities of the Department of Public Works, including operations and maintenance of water treatment, transmission and distribution systems; wastewater treatment and collection systems; streets, airport, golf course, park, cemetery, roads, sewers, and storm drainage facilities; and the equipment rental system. The Director determines short-term and long-range needs and develops operations and maintenance plans and budgets. The Director assures the efficient and economical use of the resources of the department, including budgeted funds, grant monies, personnel, facilities, and time, to accomplish short-term and long-range objectives. The director must be able to obtain and maintain state required water and sewer certifications within one year of employment.

This is an interim position until the current director retires in December 2019.
