Civil Engineer I – Development Services ($30.68-$39.16) Full-time 40 hrs/wk AFSCME represented position 12-month probationary period Provide review of private and public infrastructure plans and engineered designs for new development to ensure compatibility with public infrastructure. Assure that new development and infrastructure facilities are designed and constructed in accordance with City master plans, state and local codes and construction standards. Review private development proposals to ensure sites are designed consistent with City adopted codes and guidelines. These tasks are illustrative only and may include other related duties. Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or construction engineering and two years of experience in municipal engineering or construction management, or equivalent combination of six years of education and experience required. Ability to obtain the Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification issued through the Association of State Floodplain Managers within the probationary period. Possession of and the ability to maintain a valid driver’s license. Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving. Must have ability to pass a pre-employment background and/or criminal history check.
