Under direction of the Managing Engineer, responsible for all phases of design, planning, implementation and construction of public work projects which include water, wastewater, storm water and roadway work. Duties include managing consultant design contracts and construction contracts, adherence to any federal, state or local regulations, design and layout of project drawings and specifications, overview of bidding process and construction management of projects to completion. Reviews and approves development project plans and issuance of permits. This recruitment is for an Civil Engineer II to work in the Transportation Section of the Engineering Division. The incumbent of this position will primarily perform transportation project related activities. This recruitment will establish a roster for any future job opening should one occur within one year of the established roster. While this initial recruitment has a transportation focus, future Civil Engineer II job openings may focus on other skills including Utilities (Water, Sewer, Stormwater), or Development Review.
