Finance Department Mission Our mission is to provide high quality finance services that are responsive to our internal and external customers’ needs, deliver the services that the community desires, and demonstrate the careful stewardship of resources.
Position Description This position supports the Finance Department mission by performing a variety of general accounting and clerical tasks including: verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents, coding and routing vendor invoices, entering vendor invoices into the accounting system, maintaining the Citywide asset list, general data entry, filing and maintaining accounting records, and responding to vendor and employee inquiries.
This position reports to the Accounting Supervisor. The 15 hour-per-week work schedule is flexible; the successful incumbent will establish any regular schedule within the City’s core business hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities Education and Experience • AA/AAS degree in Business, Accounting or related field (High School/GED and job-related experience may substitute for AA/AAS degree) • Work experience in accounting, finance, or related field desirable. • Attention to detail • Ability to properly organize and prioritize tasks • Ability to problem-solve • Must be able to provide outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers. • High proficiency with MS Office. • Experience working with Springbrook financial software and/or the Washington BARS Manual a plus.
Working Conditions Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Incumbent may occasionally be required to lift boxes or files (usually not exceeding 30 pounds).
ENVIRONMENT: Office environment; very occasional outdoor driving City vehicle to attend remote training.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Sitting and operating a keyboard to enter data into a computer terminal for extended periods of time, hearing and speaking to exchange information, physical ability to operate a motor vehicle.
